Open Position – Leading Senior Scientist Nanotechnology Development

Lifecare AS (lifecare.attme.dev) is a stock listed Norwegian company with operations in Germany (Rhine-Main Area and Northern Germany). The company is engaged in the development of innovative biosensors based on MEMS and NEMS technologies. Current flagship product is a very small implantable continuous glucose sensor with ultra-long duration of use for patients with Diabetes mellitus. Lifecare is currently in the process to establish a significant operational infrastructure for R&D and manufacturing of nanoscale biosensors in Mainz and Oldenburg (Oldb). You will accompany this process in a responsible position.
These tasks await you
- Taking responsibility for setting up a new R&D infrastructure for FEBID applications (SEM microscopes etc.) at our operational headquarter in Germany (Rhine-Main-Area)
- Independent planning, control and execution of development projects
- development of high precision FEBID processes for multiple MEMS components
- Transfer of new machining processes in production
- Documentation, communication and presentation of project results, as well as close coordination with the senior management
- Close cooperation with internal and external expert teams, domestic and foreign institutes, partners and customers
Our requirements are:
- Very good degree in physics, materials science, nanotechnology, engineering or similar with a physical or technical focus, ideally followed by a PhD
- Experience in the development of highly complex systems / processes in the context of a doctorate / postdoc activity or first professional experience in industry
- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is advantageous: semiconductor physics, optics technology, surface processing / optics processing, micro- and nano-structuring, lithography, nano fabrication, FEBID, structuring technology, thin film technology, process development, optimisation, vacuum technology
- Experience in clean room desirable
- Processing of Nanomaterials
- Robotic fabrication environment in the SEM, incl. control and automation
- In-situ electromechanical characterisation
- FIB and EBiD processes
- Merging all process steps into a novel 3D nano-printing process for nanoscale sensors
- Experience in the forward-looking transfer of research results into marketable products
- Strong communication, assertiveness and teamwork skills
- Independent working style, analytical thinking and creativity
- Pleasure and willingness to familiarise yourself with new topics
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
